Whale sharks feed on many types of aquatic arthropods such as krill, shrimp, and some small fish. The way that Whale sharks get the plankton and the other small aquatic arthropods is they scoop all of the small aquatic arthropods into their mouths, along with some other small fish surrounding the Whale shark. Many people think that Whale sharks feed on the second largest predator beneath it, but Whale sharks actually only feed on aquatic arthropods such as algae, krill, and the larvae of a Christmas Island red crab. And as for the small teeth, they do not use their teeth for the feeding process.
