What are Whale Sharks?
Whale Sharks are the world's largest species of fish. Whale Sharks are thought to be mammals however they are a type of fish. The scientific name for the Whale Shark is Rhincodon typus. The Whale Shark has white or pale yellow stripes and white dots in a checker pattern all over its grey body.
Size
The weight of a full grown Whale Shark is about 11 tons. The length of a full grown Whale Shark is about 40 feet (one of a school bus).
